Company remote working policies > impossible to never ever change?

Company remote working policies > impossible to never ever change?

I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot. I usually tend to focus on resolving things and think that challenges are made to be exceeded. When looking at remote job offers, there are many of them that require being at the office some number of days a week. In our modern working and technology times, I would think that adult employees would know where they are most productive and what kind of work suits them best. Flexibility and freedom to choose are important topics in this discussion.

So I wonder, is it difficult to allow someone to work remotely even if company policy is “we must work 2 days in the office because…”?

Where’s the innovation, creativity, and will to try new things? Like: Yeah, that’s a great idea. Let’s try that!

But no, it’s impossible apparently.

Companies are seeking new employees who are creative, innovative, adaptive to change, etc. However, companies do not implement the same values themselves.

I’ve talked to many companies that say that fully remote working is impossible even if the job roles are technology-related and customer work and teamwork could be done remotely.

What are the fears behind not trying to implement remote working policies? It might be for the best of everybody: the employee and the company.
