Failure – I failed – or I learned?

Failure – I failed – or I learned?

I sent my thesis survey to 129 companies in Europe. The response rate is a staggering 7,75%. Not quite what I expected. But I’m so grateful for those who answered 😇

Where did I go wrong? Was the survey so bad? Questions and thoughts are running through my head. I failed and it’s not easy to swallow. I wanna scream and shout, let it all out 😁 But if I fail I want to do it well and with style 😅

Time to reflect and learn. The survey is quite long because my topic is broad. So it’s probably one reason people didn’t answer that. Remote working is so an interesting area that I wanted to research it profoundly.

So towards the new disappointments, I’ll go 😀 Back to the drawing board and figure out what to do next.

This failure theme inspired me to read more about failure. There are great examples of companies that celebrate failures or see those with an open mind knowing those are possibilities for development. If you don’t innovate, try, or be creative, you don’t probably succeed as well as you could. So there are always good chances to fail, so do it 😄

A great explanation of “failure” comes from Thomas Alva Edison: “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”

Two interesting articles about failure can be found by Matthew Bell:
