Tablet as a secondary screen – wireless setup

Tablet as a secondary screen – wireless setup

I don’t have a dual monitor setup available at the moment. All of a sudden I wondered if that could be done with a tablet also. After a short period of researching Google, simple setup instructions came up and I tried it.

Using a tablet as a secondary monitor in a dual monitor setup couple be useful in many remote work settings where there’s no power outlet available. For example, working in some locations like beaches or cafes, etc. One positive aspect is that it’s lightweight and easy to carry with you in a laptop case etc.

Here are the instructions for how I got it working:

I tried Spacedesk – https://www.spacedesk.net/

1. Download and install Windows software
2. Install the Android app
3. Start Wifi hotspot on your phone
4. Connect PC and tablet to that same wifi
5. Pair the devices and start using that tablet as your secondary monitor.

It was easy and fast. And it worked really fine with no lags whatsoever. I’d have to

Or is a tablet even usable in this kind of scenario? Have you used that? Are there better options available?
